LagSync Documentation
Quick setup and usage notes for LagSync on Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge.
Install
- Open the Chrome Web Store listing for LagSync.
- Click Add to Chrome (also works in Brave and Edge).
- Pin the extension to your toolbar for fast access while watching video.
Basic Usage
- Play a video on your target site (YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, Prime Video, etc.).
- Open LagSync and set a delay preset as a starting point.
- Fine-tune in small steps until lip-sync looks natural.
- For dialog-focused content, enable Audio Mode when needed.
Keyboard Shortcuts
You can adjust sync delay on the fly without opening the popup:
- Enable Keyboard Shortcuts in the LagSync Settings menu.
- Press Shift + . (Period) to increase delay.
- Press Shift + , (Comma) to decrease delay.
Tip: You can change the jump size (for example 10 ms vs 50 ms) in extension settings.
Troubleshooting
- Black Screen or Flickering Video: If a web player goes black or flashes when you enable LagSync, disable Hardware Acceleration in your browser settings and restart the browser.
- Drift Over Time: On DRM-heavy sites (like Netflix or Prime), if audio drifts after an hour of watching, pause and seek a few seconds forward/backward to force the player to resync.
Advanced Settings
- Audio Mode vs Video Mode: By default, LagSync delays the video to match lagging Bluetooth audio. Audio Mode flips this behavior natively, which is sometimes required by strict DRM players.
- Auto-Settings: When enabled, LagSync automatically detects the best underlying pipeline (MSE vs Canvas) for the specific video player you are watching to prevent errors.
